About The Best of 7 Austin The Best of 7 Austin is a two-day, food and fundraising event, championed by seven Austin restaurants who join seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong in support of cancer survivors. The event will be held on August 18 and 19, 2008. Each restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds from their days of participation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF), to further support the organization’s mission to inspire and empower people with cancer to live strong through education, advocacy, public health and research programs. Austinites and visitors are invited to join in the team-spirit and go out to eat at these seven restaurants, enjoy great food and support the Lance Armstrong Foundation and cancer survivors at the same time!
About the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the LIVESTRONG Challenge The Lance Armstrong Foundation inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. We provide the practical tools and resources survivors need to live life on their own terms. Our goal is to create a fundamental change in the expectations and experience of living with cancer and to lead and sustain a survivorship movement to help eliminate suffering due to cancer. We believe that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything.
